I have received information from Rose Comber, a direct descendant of Thomas Comber and Alice Thornton, regarding the rest of their large family. I am grateful to Rose for this information.

“You asked about Alice Thornton's other children, one married Lord Danby, her name was Katherine. She died in childbirth after delivering her l6th child. She & Lord Danby (Osborne) were cusins I think, and he became Prime Minister. A son Christopher died running away from the roundheads, he tried to cross the river and some gypsies who were there saw him drown. The other son George inherited the Wandesforde estate but there was a lot of funny famiy business leaving Alice Wandesforde Thornton very short of money. (I have her diary wrtten l635s approx, she was born 1626. ”
